One of my stock photo agencies licensed my photo of the Kenai Peninsula for the cover of the Alaska edition of Via Magazine. The story behind the photo is the Fireweed (pink flowers in the foreground) didn’t actually exist in that spot. There was a patch of Fireweed just out of the frame but I really wanted it in my foreground. I pondered the shot and went back the next day with a 2×4 with several pieces of pvc pipe screwed into it like single flower holders. I harvested a few Fireweed stalks and ouila I had my foreground! It’s nice when you work on a “cover shot” and it actually gets used as a cover.
